What is Spread the Feast Community?
We are a group of homeschooling families that meet twice a month to study the Fine Arts, Nature Study and some Form 3/4 (Middle School) subjects such as Plutarch and Geography in a Charlotte Mason way.
The idea is that God has provided rich and abundant blessings for us. All of Life is a gift. When we teach our children, we don't force information down their throats in order to fill a bucket or make them into our image in a utilitarian sort of way. Instead we SPREAD THE FEAST of God's abundance and let them feed on the beauty he has given us! When education is approached in this manner, they will learn all they need for service to the King!
We strive to follow Charlotte Mason's philosophy carefully in our Community and therefore we desire and require that every person interested in participating in our co-op first attends our Book Discussion group for an entire semester before we can consider adding their family to our group. This helps us to see if that family will fit well into our group as we are small and want relationships to be healthy and it also helps us to make sure you are committed, as a mom and teacher, to using these methods accurately and continuing to learn and grow with us!!
If you are interested, Contact Heidi at [email protected] for more information.
